Into the Trees

Quick thoughts here. Lately, I’ve been listening to the CD “Into the Trees” by Zoe Keating while I write. The moving, haunting, evocative, lyrical passages of Zoe’s cello work are a seamless joint with a story I’ve started about, well, about woodworking. The story is a weekend project for me in that I work on it on weekends only. I’m keeping it fun that way, instead of it turning into “this thing I’ve got to finish now!!!”

The story covers a lot of territory. Family. History. Relationships. Exploring the past. Learning about the present.

For the sci-fi noir story I’m working on, it’s still various Hans Zimmer soundtracks and a healthy dose of this incredible MixCloud by DJ FACT.50

And when I’m out in the shop, I can’t get enough Gary Numan, Dead Can Dance, and Vernian Process

What do you listen to when you write? What about in the shop?
